Yoga Muse Brings Mindful Movement to Local Youth Through “Wellness in Motion” Event

RIVERDALE, NY — Yoga Muse is proud to participate in Wellness in Motion, a two-day wellness event hosted by Kappa International High School, designed to introduce students to accessible, empowering movement practices beyond the traditional classroom.

Taking place on January 28–29, the event invites students ages 15–18 to explore yoga and Pilates offerings as part of the school’s experiential learning program. Yoga Muse will lead mindful movement sessions that emphasize stress regulation, body awareness, and self-care — tools especially valuable for teens navigating academic pressure and rapid personal growth.

“Movement is an effective and generally accessible way to support mental and physical well-being,” said Jen Volmer, Founder of Yoga Muse. “We’re honored to partner with Kappa International High School to bring these practices to students, particularly in communities where access to wellness resources can be limited.”

The Wellness in Motion program reflects growing interest among students in yoga, Pilates, and other holistic practices that support resilience, focus, and emotional regulation. Yoga Muse’s classes will be tailored specifically for high school students, creating a welcoming and age-appropriate introduction to mindful movement. “Programs like Wellness in Motion give our students the opportunity to explore wellness in a way that feels engaging and relevant,” said Haydee Guardamino at Kappa International High School. “Introducing practices like yoga can help our students build tools for stress management, confidence, and overall well-being, both in and outside the classroom.”

This collaboration underscores Yoga Muse’s broader commitment to community engagement and equitable access to wellness. By partnering with local schools and organizations, the studio continues its mission of making yoga and mindful movement approachable, inclusive, and relevant to everyday life.
