Restorative yoga meets live acoustic music in this event designed to relax, unwind, and practice the art of listening. During this experience, gentle restorative postures are paired with a live acoustic cello soundbath, creating a warm, immersive atmosphere that soothes the nervous system and invites full-body relaxation. Expect long, supported holds, soft lighting, and layers of resonant music designed to help you unwind, reset, and simply receive. 🕯️No physical exertion. Focused on relaxation and mindfulness. 

about Tara Hanish, cellist

Originally from Michigan, Tara called Cleveland and NYC home before landing in the Adirondacks in beautiful upstate NY. 

A multi-genre cellist, Tara performs regularly as a member of the Fenimore Chamber Orchestra, Glens Falls Symphony and Catskill Symphony, and appears often in Candlelight Concerts as well as with the Albany Symphony, Albany Pro Musical and Caroga Arts Ensembles. Tara has enjoyed sharing the stage with renowned artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Leonard Slatkin, Joshua Bell, The Foo Fighters, Il Volo, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Michael Buble, Kanye West, Barry Manilow, Josh Groban and Smokey Robinson.

Creatively, Tara enjoys improvising, writing and arranging, working in collaborations and bringing cello to different projects and spaces. She is the cellist for NYC-based You Bred Raptors, an instrumental post-rock trio with cello, 8-string bass and drums. Tara also works with artists across the country, creating and recording cello layers for their tunes remotely in her home recording studio. As an arranger, Tara enjoys making cello and string ensemble arrangements for wedding clients and students, and has started to sell her arrangements online at Sheet Music Plus & Sheet Music Direct.

A passionate educator, Tara is an Associated Faculty member and Administrative Assistant for the Caroga Arts SPACE program, and also maintains a private cello studio in the Capital District area. Tara holds a Professional Studies diploma from the Cleveland Institute of Music, M.M from the University of Miami, and B.M from the University of Michigan. Her principal instructors include Richard Aaron, Ross Harbaugh, Anthony Elliott and Louis Potter, and she received Suzuki teacher training with Pamela Devenport, Tanya Carey and Barbara Wampner.

Tara performs on a modern cello made by William Whedbee, as well as a Luis & Clark carbon fiber cello and Yamaha Electric cello.

When Tara is not on the road, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Tim, and their blind cat, Cece. She enjoys skiing (especially nordic), paddling, and exploring the outdoors.
