four to the core: instructor Q&A

How did your yoga journey start, and what does it look like today?

My yoga journey started in 2018, when my college roommate brought me to a 26&2 class. I quickly felt the effects yoga had on my mind and body; it became like a daily medicine. I explored different styles over the years and maintained an at-home asana practice. As my interest in the mind/body connection grew, I studied the metaphysical aspect of Yogic philosophy. Today I practice asana, pranayama, and meditation every day.

What’s something outside of yoga that inspires your practice?

I think what inspires my practice the most is the idea of movement as medicine in order to live a fulfilling life. As a person with epilepsy, I really notice the difference if I don't get my practice in. There are multiple studies that support a consistent yoga practice in managing several ailments. I am endlessly fascinated by the similarities between the human nervous system and the subtle body, and how yoga can help us manipulate it.

What do you hope students take away from your classes?

I hope students leave my class feeling empowered and more familiar with their inner selves.

In three words, how would you describe the vibe of your classes?
