four to the core: instructor Q&A
How did your yoga journey start, and what does it look like today?
My yoga journey started during a very stressful event in my life which kept my nervous system in a constant state of “fight and flight.” Since I used to do gymnastics when I was younger, I always loved to stretch as well as challenge myself physically. I was surprised to feel how challenging yoga was in many ways and loved trying out the different types of practices. I prioritized my yoga practice as a form of self-care as it helped my body and mind feel centered amidst my busy life. Now, my practice has taken a slower and more mindful, meditative approach, to remind my body/mind to stay present while learning the art of “letting go.”
What’s something outside of yoga that inspires your practice?
I love to draw inspiration from the mind/body connection. The more I learn about this powerful connection, the more I discover about myself. It’s a continuous journey of resilience, compassion and grace – on and off the mat.
What do you hope students take away from your classes?
I hope my students will leave feeling more calm, confident and inspired as they learn how to tune into their bodies through movement and breath.
In three words, how would you describe the vibe of your classes?
Grounding, Connecting, Mindful
